The Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), a global campaign with multilateral development banks and bilateral donors to mobilize financing for women’s micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, raised USD 5.3M in 2024, exceeding by a factor of five its goal for the year, and in the process reaching 400,000 women’s MSMEs worldwide. Also in 2024, the organization introduced the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Code, “a commitment by banking institutions, financial service providers, regulators, development banks and other financial ecosystem players to work together to increase funding to women-led micro, small and medium enterprises around the world, so they can grow and add value to their economy and their communities.” Nearly 30 countries have joined or are preparing to join as pilot countries for implementing the code in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
