The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women has released the report of its Asia-Pacific Regional Consultation on the theme of gender equality in the digital age. The consultation was convened by the UN’s Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and UN Women’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, in collaboration with other UN organizations. We are proud that Senior Associate Kizzann Sammy was invited to represent E.T. Jackson and Associates at the meeting. As the report notes, speakers argued that barriers sustaining the gender digital divide should be addressed through mainstreaming gender across technology and innovation strategies and policies, “including in relation to subsidizing the cost of data and devices, cybercrimes policing, and labour policies in STEM fields.” To read the full report of the consultation, click HERE
