New Blended Finance Report Calls for Greater Scaling to Address SDG Funding Gap

A new report on the state of the field of blended finance was released on September 24, 2019, alongside the United Nations General Assembly, by the field-building non-profit Convergence.  The report identifies some 50 blended finance deals are structured each year worth about $15 billion.  However, it also finds that this level of activity cannot yet meaningfully address the large funding gap to fully implement the Sustainable Development Goals.  It concludes that: “blended finance is at a critical juncture where practitioners need to focus on scaling up and refining blended finance solutions that have demonstrated the ability to achieve measurable impact”.  To access the report, click here
